Craig Pohl , M.S.

Executive Director, Research Infrastructure Services

Craig directs the (RIS) team, which is a mix of highly skilled hardware, systems, and software engineering professionals focused on the agile development and operations of high-performance storage, computing, databases, and applications for research at Washington University in St. Louis. Craig has an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, where his research focus was on automated systems and image processing. After graduating in 1997, he spent 20 years supporting the research mission of the McDonnell Genome Institute in various roles, from developing software and systems to directing IT operations. In 2017, Craig’s group transitioned from WashU IT to the newly formed RIS group to bring the latest tools and technology to the research community that will help facilitate and solve some of the most challenging scientific problems.

Daryls’ team consists of 4 Research Facilitators and 1 Communication Specialist.

  • Executes provisioning and change requests.
  • Develops and presents training workshops.
  • Creates and curates KB articles and how-to documentation.
  • Provides support for high-performance computing and data storage services.
