Systems Engineer III

RIS is searching for a experienced, motivated systems engineer who is experienced in design, implementation, and engineering support for technology solutions such as server virtualization, collaboration systems, active directory and database solutions. The engineer must possess a broad range of technical skills and experience with enterprise-class services. An engineer with proven skills in Linux based computing environments, open source development tools and languages, configuration management and orchestration, job schedulers and workflows. centralized log management, metrics and visualizations, and monitoring and alert management is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess experience with high performance or high throughput computing with IBM platform and Spectrum products, docker containers, and Kubernetes runtime environments, cloud infrastructure provisioning with Terraform, and relational database services.

Applications Developer III

RIS is searching for an experienced applications developer to join our team. The right person for this position is passionate, smart, loves what they do as much as we do and is ready to hit the ground running with our collaborative team. This team member will provide advanced support of cost-effective information technology solutions by creating new, modifying, and supporting existing software applications. They will lead complex projects requiring specialized technical knowledge and possess innovative thinking. Advanced and comprehensive knowledge of applications systems development and the systems they support, along with knowledge of other information technology functions to apply a broad and interactive perspective to applications development is required. You will also have specialized knowledge of appropriate programming languages and development tools and the ability to complete difficult development and programming tasks.

RIS Interns

RIS offers intern opportunities in hardware, software, and systems engineering.  RIS interns have the opportunity to be an integral part of an innovative and passionate team. If you’re excited by a team environment, if you are curious, like to learn new technologies, and you adapt well to change, a RIS internship may be right for you.

Successful intern candidates will have a passion for the customer, and the details that make their experience with our services exceptional.  You will be passionate about current state-of-the-art hardware and software technologies and tools, have a curiosity and an excitement about working with and learning new technologies. You will be excited by a team environment, and be willing to take on new and unexpected challenges.

Bonus points (but not required) if you have non-academic coding experience (i.e code challenges, personal projects, GitHub, Open Source, etc.)  Experience with Linux operating systems, scripting skills, knowledge of configuration management systems (i.e. Puppet, Ansible), experience with major cloud platforms (i.e. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, etc.)
