Join us in this hands-on training session: Introduction to Parallel Computing using C and OpenMP. This workshop is designed to take you from serial programming to writing efficient, multi-threaded applications.
Prerequisites: You must have familiarity with the Linux command line and Active RIS compute allocation.
💡 What you’ll learn:
- The Fundamentals: Understanding shared memory systems.
- Directive-Based Programming: How to use #pragma omp to parallelize loops effortlessly.
- Synchronization: Handling data races and using barriers.
- Performance Tuning: Identifying bottlenecks in your C code.
❓ Why attend
As datasets grow, serial computing is no longer enough. Mastering OpenMP allows you to scale your research and make the most of our center’s high-performance resources.
This training will take place on Zoom; you will automatically receive a calendar invite that includes the Zoom link after registration.
