RIS is excited to announce our upcoming Introduction to HPC Training Series. These workshops are designed for those with little to no HPC knowledge, as well as beginners looking to improve their HPC skills.
| Available Trainings | Best For | What you’ll learn | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Introduction to Open OnDemand (OOD) | Researchers who are just starting out with HPC and have no command line knowledge. | How to use OOD to get access to HPC resources to perform analyses. | 🗓️ June 10, 2026 🕐 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM CDT |
| Introduction to Command-line | Researchers who want to learn Linux-based command line for HPC. | How to use basic Linux Command Line commands and Compute2 basic jobs. | 🗓️ June 17, 2026 🕐 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM CDT |
| Beyond the Basics: Unlocking RIS | Users who have been using OOD or very basic command line jobs and need a more in-depth analysis. | A myriad of ways to enhance your analyses, including moving from OOD to command line jobs, data life cycle management, job efficiency, and more. | 🗓️ June 24, 2026 🕐 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM CDT |
These trainings will take place on Zoom; you will automatically receive a calendar invite that includes the Zoom link after registration.
❓ Why Attend:
As research requires more computational resources, using HPC platforms is becoming commonplace. These workshops provide the hands-on skills needed to:
💻 Begin Using HPC Resources: Be able to do analyses beyond your personal computer.
💡 Understand Linux Command Line: Learn the language that runs the research world.
🧮 Adapt and Expand HPC Understanding: Learn how to move beyond the beginning steps and how to better administrate your HPC needs.
Prerequisites: These workshops are for users with little to no knowledge of HPC systems. There are no real prerequisites. If you would like to follow along, you will need a RIS Compute2 account. To get access to Compute2, please get onboarded to RIS.
We look forward to helping you push the boundaries of your research!
