The cost model for GitHub Copilot is changing effective July 1, 2026. This change is in response to Copilot’s recent transition to a metered use model and enables better resource management through usage and budgetary controls.
What’s changing:
Moving forward, access to Copilot will no longer be provisioned under the Washington University in St Louis enterprise configuration.
- Current Access: All Copilot access under the Washington University in St Louis enterprise license will be deactivated effective July 1, 2026.
Action required
Submit a service request under GitHub – Copilot Access to provision your Copilot access with a linked funding source.
