Omero is Now Available on RIS

OMERO is a modern client-server software platform for visualizing, managing, and annotating scientific image data. It is available on the RIS Platform for WashU researchers at no additional cost besides the storage cost for the images uploaded or imported into OMERO. It’s built for research institutions like WashU to handle, securely store, and share large datasets.

Why it matters: OMERO revolutionizes imaging workflows by supporting multiple file formats and seamlessly integrating with analytical tools. It simplifies collaboration while keeping datasets and data organized and secure.

Key Features:

  • Import – Import over 150 image formats from microscope graphics, and other imaging formats.
  • Organize – Annotate your data with Tags, Comments, Files, and more.
  • View – Use OMERO clients to work with image data over the internet from anywhere.
  • Analyze – Use ImageJ, MATLAB, R, scripts, and other tools to run analysis on data in OMERO and save results on the server.
  • Publish – Publish your raw data straight from the server using URLs to link directly to the web-based image viewer in a manuscript or embed images into your website.
  • Export – Download your original image data from anywhere, export as OME-TIFF or movie formats, or quickly create figures for publication.
