Coming Soon: Compute2 – The Future of High-Performance Computing at WashU

RIS is planning to launch Compute2, our next-generation high-performance computing platform built to meet the growing demands of the WashU research community, this September

❗️Why it matters

Compute2 is for researchers requiring cutting-edge performance for their computational research, including large datasets and complex simulations that benefit from the latest technology and the use of Artificial Intelligence. It boosts performance, scalability, and flexibility with new state-of-the-art hardware integrated with RIS Storage Platforms and applications.

📌Key Features

  • General and Condo resources – standard or customized to meet computational needs.
  • Secure  – compliant with the NIST 800-171 standard supporting HIPAA, protected, and confidential data.
  • User-centric documentation – lowers learning curve.
  • User onboarding – required training that ensures access and usability.
  • Slurm Job Scheduler – quality of service limits to ensure timely resource availability.
  • Docker, Apptainer, and Module support – flexibility in software environments.
  • Command line or Web UI – accommodates different user preferences.
  • Data availability – integrated, high-speed data access to RIS Storage Platforms.
  • Scalable architecture – supports growth in workloads.
  • Custom allocations for centers or projects – tailored resource control.
